Overview:

The Account Executive/Senior Account Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while managing and growing existing accounts. This role requires a consultative seller who can understand client needs, position technology solutions, and work closely with our engineering, operations, and vendor partner teams to deliver value. This is a quota carrying role focused on territory development, solution selling, and longterm account management.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development and Territory Growth

  • Prospect, identify, and qualify new business opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from initial outreach through close.
  • Conduct onsite and virtual client meetings, presentations, and solution discovery sessions.
  • Represent Cypress Technology Advisors at industry events, conferences, and partner activities.
  • Solution Selling
    • Sell a broad range of IT solutions, including:
      • Cloud (Microsoft, AWS, hybrid solutions)
      • Networking & infrastructure
      • Cybersecurity solutions
      • Collaboration and unified communications
      • Managed and professional services
      • Conduct discovery to understand customer business goals and technical requirements.
      • Collaborate with sales engineering and technical teams to develop solution proposals and SOWs.
      • Present and negotiate proposals, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals.

Account Management

  • Maintain relationships with existing customers to drive renewals, expansions, and upsell opportunities.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for ongoing and postsale engagement.
  • Manage customer satisfaction and ensure quality service delivery through internal coordination.
  • Track opportunities, activities, and forecasting within CRM.
  • Vendor & Partner Engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with key OEMs and distributors.
  • Participate in coselling, joint events, and partner training to stay current on solutions and incentives.
  • Leverage vendor programs to maximize margin, rebates, and dealregistration benefits.

Qualifications:

Required: 3–5+ years (for Senior Level role, 7-10+ years) of outside sales experience in IT solutions, VAR, or technology reseller environment. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a consultative sales role. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud, and/or cybersecurity solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Experience developing and managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to closure. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within territory.

Preferred: Existing relationships with key technology vendors (Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Rubrik, Nutanix, Pure, etc.). Experience selling managed services or recurring revenue solutions. Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce. Technical aptitude or certifications (e.g., vendor sales certifications, CompTIA, etc.).
